last night i was driving home around 2am and a black cat scurried across the road and under the tire of the car in front of me. it rolled and bolted to the side of the road, leapt onto a ledge and then was scrambling to get over. the car was long gone, having either not noticed or not cared, and i pulled over horrified and wondering who i could possibly call. it's little back legs couldn't work and it was stuck on the ledge by the sidewalk. in the end i decided that by the time anyone (animal control? ASPCA?) might arrive, it could have scrambled off somewhere and i wasn't about to restrain it. terrible. i cried the whole drive home.
don't you love these pictures? they are sad and beautiful... one of my favorite combos.
oh my god! that's so terrifying and i would have cried too. there are always a bunch of cats running around near your apartment so be careful of them!
ReplyDelete23 sounds old! imagine being 26! gah.
i sort of cried reading that, and i dont even like most cats (except for master stormy of course, kate).
ReplyDeletealso i think we are destined to feel old now. how sad.
